He Wouldn’t Say “keep quiet”

One day my maternal uncle was recalling that, “I went to see the Imam who was busy listening to the news on the radio. However, he did not want to tell me to keep quiet; so he brought the radio set close to his ears. Sometimes when we were two or three of us busily talking in his presence, he would gesture us to keep quiet but would refrain from telling us directly to stop talking. One day he stood up and went and sat close to the television set to watch the program; so we understood that our speaking was distracting him in watching the TV program.”
