Be Honest Toward Children

To my daughter who complained about the naughtiness of her children, the Imam said: “I am ready to exchange the divine rewards that you are receiving for tolerating Hussein’s mischievousness with the entire rewards that I receive from my entire acts of worship.” He believed that the child must be free till he reaches to adolescence after which certain restrictions need to be placed on him. On the subject of training children he had said:

“Be honest with children so that they turn out to be honest as well. The parents are the child’s role model. The children are brought up well if you behave properly with them. If you say anything to children make sure you keep to your word.”
