On the night when the ‘Nozhe’ coup plot was discovered and foiled, all the top officials of the time arrived at the Imam’s residence in the Jamaran neighbourhood (of Tehran). We all armed ourselves and went to the mountains. Later we heard from Hajj Aqa Ansari that on that day he had told the Imam: “Let us leave this place; it is quite likely that a plane will appear and bomb Jamaran.” However, the Imam had remarked: “Is my blood of a deeper hue than the blood of Jamaran’s residents?”
