A festival has been held to honor the Iranian martyrs from various faiths and communities.
The festival was organized in Bahman cultural center, located in southern part of the Iranian capital Tehran, to pay tribute to martyrs who rendered great services to Iranian nation and sacrificed their lives to defend the
sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country during the imposed war.
The ceremony was attended by Christian, Jewish, the Zoroastrian and Muslim leaders and figures from different communities including Armenians. A number of Irainian officials also attended the ceremony.
Nearly 180 martyrs from different religious minorities sacrificed their lives to defend the country against Iraqi imposed war on Iran.
The then Iraqi dictator attacked Iraq with backing of some regional hostile states and colonial powers.
The all Iranian people regardless of their religious and community affiliation, they become united under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic countries to confront the aggressors and defend all human and religious values.
It is notable that Imam Khomeini attached a great significance rights and religious freedoms of followers of all divine regions across Iran.
Imam Khomeini is highly commended by followers of all divine religions for observing and upgrading the rights of all religious minorities.
Imam had put forward several recommendations and advised the government authorities to pay special attention to all religious minorities and various ethnic communities after the victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979.
