Imam Khomeini’s 31st passing anniversary to be held virtual

Imam Khomeini anniversary this year will be held by holding online events and broadcasting speeches.

 Believers and devotees in Iran and elsewhere across world will commemorate 31st passing anniversary of Imam Khomeini with online events as a deadly coronavirus pandemic has restricted mass gatherings across the globe. 

Mohammad Ali Ansari, the head of quarters tasked with holding the anniversary made remarks during a recent meeting held near the holy shrine on Saturday.

IRIB will live broadcase a speech by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. 

Every year, Khomeini's passing anniversary is marked on June third at the mausoleum in a ceremony that is attended by governmental officials, foreign ambassadors, and hundreds of foreign guest.

Imam Khomeini's grandson Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini is guardian and in charge of caring for the holy shrine. 

It is frequently visited by government figures and foreign dignitaries. 

Imam Khomeini, the contemporary religious and spiritual leader of the Muslim world has had well command over a number of fields including philosophy, mysticism, Quranic and Hadith sciences, Jurisprudence, and poetry and literature. His ideals are becoming increasing popular among young generation and followers of divine religions.

It is worthy to mention that the holy site has become a beacon of social, religious and spiritual activities in recent years.

The Islamic Revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini with massive public support and backing in 1979.

Iran made a great amount of progress following the victory of the revolution in all fields and perspectives.

It is worth to mention that Imam Khomeini's holy shrine which is located on the outskirts of the Iranian capital has become center of religious, cultural and social activities in recent year. 

The site is visited by thousands of pilgrims, devotees, academics and tourists from Iran and across various parts of the world. 

The Islamic Revolution defended the rights of the entire Muslim ummah and the oppressed nations, and confronted the vicious plans of colonial powers.  

A large number of tourists, intellectuals, officials, scholars and pilgrims visit the holy mausoleums from across Iran and various parts of the world each year.
