Seyyed Hassan Khomeini welcomed Cuban president at Imam Khomeini shrine

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini has recently welcomed Cuban president who visited holy shrine of the late founder of the Islamic Republic during his recent visit to the Iranian capital Tehran.

 Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, his wife and the members of accompnied delegation were warmly welcomed by Seyyed Hassan Khomeini as they arrived at the holy mausoleum of the late leader of the Islamic Revolution.

In a meeting with the vesting president, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini said that Cuba's future was definitely bright due to charismatic personality and resistance spirit of it founding leader late Fidel Castro's who is deeply loved by Iranians.  You have many friends in Iran, he added.

Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, recalling  Castro's presence at Imam Khomeini's shrine and at  Jamaran complex where Imam’s residence is located, and his own experience of a trip to Cuba, said that those events remain “very memorable".

“Late Castro had been a great figure and for our generation he is a very respected figure and character and a symbol of freedom struggle.”

Castro was a symbol of such characters who did not fall under the burden of oppression, and I hope that Cuba will continue is path.

During the meeting, Seyyed Hassan Khomeini also hoped an end to the ongoing brutal aggression by the Israeli regime against the Palestinians on the besieged Gaza Strip.  

 Senior Iranian officials have hailed Iran’s growing cooperation with Cuba, particularly in the fields of science and technology, and noted that the two countries are also determined to expand relations in agriculture, mines and energy sectors.

They have described recent visit by Cuban president  to Tehran as a “turning point” in the improvement of mutual ties.

Iran and Cuba will strengthen cooperation in various sectors of science and technology, health, agriculture, energy and mines, communications and medicine.
